Our innovative drive

Stork Aerospace is a highly innovative company built on entrepreneurial spirit, technology and innovation.The company was founded by Anthony Fokker in 1919 and ever since we have had hands-on experience with practically every industry development. Today, we still spend a considerable percentage of total turnover on innovation, leading to an average of 30 patent applications a year.

Our innovative drive was instrumental in the development of Glare, a revolutionary, lightweight and ultra-strong construction material. The world’s largest commercial airliner, the Airbus A380, uses Glare for its fuselage, while our advanced composites (high performance thermoplastics) in the wing leading edges provide even further savings in weight and fuel consumption.

Stork electrical wiring systems will soon connect the nerve centers of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, a high profi le program for which we also produce several in-fl ight opening doors, electrical wiring and structural components for the engines, and the edges and movable control surfaces of the wing and tail sections. In aerospace, innovations help to make operations safer and maintenance more effi cient. This makes them our company’s lifeline: innovations breed commercial success and ensure continuity.
